9 Essential Photoshop time-savers - Shortcuts and Commands every user should know!

A boon for every designer, Photoshop is one of the most common and loved software for designing, rendering, and editing.

No matter how regularly we use the software, from time to time we still look up the internet for some tricks to make our work faster and easier. There are a ton of shortcuts and commands to cover in one post, but these are the ones that come into use frequently for us as designers.

These simple shortcuts will definitely enhance your work speed, streamline your daily work in no time and shave off quite a bit of time off your day!

No more talking, let’s get started!

  1. Special Characters (Bullet (•) — Option + 8 (Mac) | Alt + 0149 (Win),


  2. Degree (°) — Option + Shift + 8 (Mac) | Alt + 248 (Win),


  3. Copyright (©) — Option + G (Mac) | Alt + 0169 (Win))

*Note: Some fonts do not have these characters. Change the font and try

          Enter numbers with numeric keypad. Keep NumLK on

  1. Fit image to screen (Mac: CMD + 0 | PC: CTRL + 0)


  2. Isolate Layer Visibility (Mac: OPT + CLICK ON EYEBALL | PC: ALT + CLICK ON EYEBALL)


    This is one of our fav keys :) Just magical, super easy, super quick!!


  3. Delete Curves Anchor Points (Mac: CMD + CLICK | PC: CNTRL + CLICK)


    One more Magical Key !!


  4. Converting To Paragraph Text (Right Click Text Layer > Convert To Paragraph Text)


  5. Duplicating Layer Styles (Mac: Opt Click + Drag Layer FX | PC: Alt Click + Drag Layer FX)


  6. New Layer No Dialog (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + N)


  7. Invert Selection (MAC: Cmd+Shift+I | WINDOWS: Ctrl+Shift+I)


  8. Change Canvas Size (MAC: Cmd+Opt+c | WINDOWS: Ctrl+Alt+c)
